SPECULATIVE FICTION
Speculative fiction is an umbrella genre for stories that explore “what if” scenarios beyond ordinary reality. It encompasses science fiction, fantasy, horror, alternate history, dystopian and utopian tales, and superhero narratives. The common thread is the introduction of elements—technological, supernatural, or extraordinary powers—that diverge from the known world, then examining how they reshape society, identity, or survival. Whether through futuristic technology, magical realms, costumed heroes, or alternate timelines, speculative fiction pushes boundaries and uses imagined settings to reflect on human experience and possibility.
THE PARTISAN by Ben Wolfe
When a young woman’s estranged father is murdered, she is thrust into a dangerous arms race for his secrets while becoming guardian to a younger sister she never knew existed.
This is a crossover saga where superheroes, aliens, and advanced technology collide on a world that looks like our own, but where theories of tomorrow have already become weapons of today. At its heart, it is the story of two sisters, bound by blood and betrayal, caught in a struggle that could tip the balance of global power and entwined in the destinies of two hidden alien civilizations. Earth, long a “quarantined” world, now finds its fragile boundaries shattered.
Here, genetic manipulation is not science fiction but the bleeding edge of military research as nations compete to create the ultimate human weapon. Technology is fueled by discoveries too advanced to be our own, seeded by alien forces hiding both at the edge of our galaxy and within the shadows of our solar system.
What began as a comic book concept too costly to produce became an audio series on Pocket FM. Concerned by restrictive contracts that claimed all rights, I chose instead to release twelve episodes for free (while preserving all rights) to build interest before expanding the story into a speculative fiction novel and audiobook. In parallel, under my screenwriting name Anton Skolezar, I began adapting it as a teleplay.
Now The Partisan has grown into a fully realized world, a universe so versatile it can fit seamlessly into almost any existing franchise: Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse, even The Boys. With only minimal adjustments, it belongs anywhere and everywhere.
